My wife and I spent part of the long weekend taking a quick 3-mile hike, just the two of us. It was a time to reconnect and talk about where we’re headed.
We’re very fortunate in so many ways. We have a house, a loving family, we never want for food, healthcare, et cetera. But we’re also feeling smothered by the things we have and I’m feeling like I’m living to work instead of working to live.
We decided, in very rough terms, to come up with a 5-year plan to be out from under as many of the “things” we currently deal with as possible so that we can focus on what matters – each other, our children, and living the life we’ve been given.
We want to explore. To experience. To have adventures. To wander.
We’re willing to give up many of those things seen as modern comforts to get that. We’re willing to stop pretending to live in order to actually live. We’re willing.
I’ll outline the 5-year plan as it takes shape and I’ll be posting regular updates on our progress here.
